I am a librarian at Reeves Library. We hope that you’ll use this blog to keep current on how to get the most out of your campus library.
We librarian-types differ in many ways, but we do share some things in common. We all are quite well-educated – a bachelors degree in a subject area and a masters in information/library science, at minimum; others have earned an additional masters degree or a Ph.D. We are also concerned (some might say “obsessed”) with providing and protecting access to information. We tend to be on the cutting-edge of technology. And, we’re also helpful to a fault.
It’s no different at Reeves Library. And, I’ll add one more thing to the list: we want you to be comfortable using library resources and be able to use them well.
As for me, I like trying to figure out how to make the best use of what I anticipate will be truckloads of fruit from our trees . . . not to mention a very large garden of vegetables. So long, freetime! I also like trying to figure out how I can possibly replaster old, old walls in an old, old farmhouse myself. And, I like to just get in the car and drive.
What I’m reading now:
A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World by Tony Horwitz

Little Heathens: Hard Times and High Spirits on an Iowa Farm During the Great Depression by Mildred Armstrong Kalish
The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible by A.J. Jacobs
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver
